You can’t walk 3 steps anywhere in this city without seeing a Starbucks, or Tim Horton’s or some kind of coffee house.
More and more bars are equipping their establishments with espresso machines, for after dinner beverages.
I’ve been a bartender for years, but I don’t even drink coffee let alone know how to make 25 different kinds of it!
However, I decided that the time had come to learn the art of making Cappuccinos, Lattes, Single Espressos, double long Espressos, grande mocha Cappuccinos, and all the other ones I can’t remember the names for!
The problem is, where do I go to learn how to be a Barista?
It is not as easy as you might think to find Barista training if you don’t work for one of the big coffee chains.
I found a program called Buena Barista, which is offered by BartenderOne, which is a bartending school chain in Toronto.
I learned a lot about different types of coffee, how to make all of the fancy specialty coffees, and even how to do some Latte art!
It was a fun and informative afternoon.
